jocundasykes wrote this for me based on the prompt of Aberforth/Severus as part of Fic or Treat 2024, and seriously, if you like Aberforth/Severus or are even just intrigued by the thought of it, you should really give it a read. It's an absolute gem that captures everything that compels me about these two in a perfect 100-word package.

I've steered people toward mywitch's 25 Days of Drawing, a month of Harry Potter art in December, at least once already this year—but today calls for a special rec.

mywitch was kind enough to draw something for my prompt of 'Moody and mistletoe', and then went amazingly above and beyond by making it not just one drawing but a whole one-page comic featuring my long-time beloved ship of Moody/Shacklebolt! It's charming, wonderfully executed, and made me really, really happy.

I'm incredibly, incredibly touched that mywitch made a cover for one of my fics (Father to the Man, a Snape/Filch fic where the two end up caring for a young version of Severus accidentally pulled out of the past) as part of her annual 25 Days of Drawing. It's beautiful, and I love it, and I'm still just making a lot of vague motions of delight over here.

If you're the least bit familiar with the Harry Potter series and P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves stories, and if you share my weakness for impeccable writing that delights the brain and gets you in the feelings at the same time, I can't recommend this story enough:

It's got time travel, interwar gay bars, dancing, misapprehensions, espionage (of a sort), and the extremely RTMI pleasure of a perfectly in-character distinctive narrative voice that also doubles as an outsider PoV of one of my favourite characters and ships.

Into the lives of all upstanding citizens an occasion must fall where we fumble the biscuit and end up owing an undeniable debt to mankind. Or in this instance, a kind man or two rather than the whole shebang.

No doubt it strikes you, on the head as it were, that I could say this of Jeeves on the regular. But the truth of the matter is, if I referred the matter to a court of law, that court would be forced to conclude that Jeeves is not like other men and therefore not a representative specimen.

If that tempts you, I can promise the rest holds even more to love.
