Legend of Korra 02x03
Oh Korra, you are such a dumbass. Hey, Tonraq - maybe if you'd sheltered your daughter less, she would have some rudimentary radar for fascists. Because that's kind of a useful thing for an Avatar to have.
That said, I could watch Air Family drama all day. I love how realistically the dynamic shifts between the siblings: the two non-Airbenders versus daddy's heir, the two benders versus the only non-bender in the family, two brothers versus a sister, the two settled ones versus the nomad. I hope too that we see the subject raised of how Tenzin would parent Rohan if it turns out he's a non-bender or Earthbender.
(But I could seriously have done without the implication in Bolin's storyline that it's funny and harmless when a girl threatens a boy with violence when he tries to break up. It wouldn't fly the other way around, and it's not cool.)

ETA: *blushes* Pointless comment, I know, but I wanted to tell someone!

Maybe we won't see much more of it, but I would read tons about how Korra's parents went about trying to keep her with them, not ready to have to go out and be the Avatar yet.
The Air Family drama seemed a little forced at first, but I thought it really picked up when they were looking for Ikki. There are so many dynamic shifts there and I can totally buy Aang and being obsessed with Tenzin and leaving Kya and Bumi in the hands of Katara. I wonder if they're setting things up for Rohan to not be a bender (like Pema), which I too would find interesting.
Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with that deal in Bolin's storyline either. Zing on Mako though when Bolin reminds him that he's pretty much dumped girls left and right.
The episode felt a little lax up until Unalaq's kidnapping (gorgeous fight scene!), though I was surprised it was Ikki who had run off and not Jenora considering what had happened last episode. At least the ending was a real cliffhanger.
Seriously, what should happen is Tenzin should talk things over with Lin about whether he's being a jerk to his siblings (of course she would say yes. :P).

Haha, right??? I was kind of startled actually because it felt a bit... Korra, remember when there was this other big scary enemy, and the dude who was like "I will save everyone!" but went all fascist so you had to fight him? Remember that? Yeah.
So agreed on the Air family dynamics, and also the skeeviness of the Bolin thing. Plus it weirds me out that he's scared of breaking up with her and scared of her generally, and he's violent, but it's presented as just him being worried about hurting her feelings or whatever. Idk, I might be being unfair to the programme... but definitely Mako reacted like "just gotta break her heart" as opposed to concern for YOUR BROTHER'S GIRLFRIEND USES PHYSICAL FORCE AGAINST HIM.
