Then I saw your post of the Yiddish Hallelujah, and I just feel the need to add you. Hello! First of all, the last sentence of your friends list/access policy made me laugh out loud and that alone would make me want to be friends with you--let alone the fact that we're both multifandom folks starting from the way back! According to your interests, we only have Star Trek in common, but I'd be willing to bet there are others you'd like. Star Trek in all its iterations keeps one pretty busy, though, doesn't it?

So nice to meet you! I'm always happy to connect with more multifannish folks here, especially ones of a similar vintage. Star Trek really is one of those forever fandoms of mine—TNG was probably the first thing I was ever properly a fan of as a kid, and the franchise in general has enough material to last a lifetime. Looking at your interests, I also read a lot of Buffy and Angel fic back in the day, and really enjoyed Farscape when it aired.

TNG was pretty much where I started, too. My sister was into TOS, but I just couldn't really get into it (mostly because of Bill Shatner's overacting). I love George Takei, Jimmy Doohan, and Leonard Nimoy (God rest the last two). I really love Voyager, but I have yet to finish the series. I haven't finished any of them, actually. I'm currently streaming them very slowly on Paramount+.

Farscape is on my watchlist on a free streaming service.

I have seen both Buffy and Angel all the way to the end in syndication and on first-release DVD. (YAAAY, I didn't get the "fixed" DVDs!) Each is definitely worth a rewatch when you feel the need to focus on something other than reality because you'll always see a new inside joke you missed the first time because you didn't know how it related. Also, tons of foreshadowing from Xander's lines or about Xander's character that will punch you in the gut on rewatch. Rewatching Angel is mostly fun to see the interaction between him and Spike in the first season, knowing what happens in the last season. Oh, there's also the Buffy-Angel crossover where Angel comes to Sunnydale and "accidentally" beats up Riley. The argument the three of them have is one of my favorite moments in the series. It's just so...true to RL! (You can watch Buffy for free if you get Tubi where you live. I'm not sure if they have Angel, but they do have Buffy.)

TOS was one of those shows I only ever saw if I sick, since reruns only played midday where I lived, but I knew the characters through the movies and loved them in that capacity. I remember my parents renting movies #1-5 in preparation for The Undiscovered Country coming out, and I started reading tie-in novels around then. George Takei, Jimmy Doohan, and Leonard Nimoy were definitely favourites of mine too. I actually met Jimmy Doohan once at a convention when I was eight, and he so incredibly kind.

Unfortunately, Tubi doesn't have Buffy in my country, but it's good to know that fooling around with a VPN might help there if I can't find other places to stream it here. I haven't watched it since it first aired, but I was a big Giles fan back in the day, and I remember liking Wesley and Gunn on Angel—and Lorne!

*headscratch* I've been digging around a keyword search for "monkey island" and saw a lot of comments from you in pauraque's journal on various posts, and I thought gee, I haven't seen them post in a long time... and it turns out that though you were on my access list, somehow I wasn't subscribed to you? Anyway, I've fixed that now. Probably will scroll back a page or two in recent entries and see what's the what in recent times.
