The December Meme (Laid-Back Version)

(Lifted from [personal profile] torachan.)

Work's been brain-draining, and I'd love to have more to natter on about here than co-worker complaints. Scheduling thirty days of posting prompts is a bit much, but if there's anything you'd like to see me talk about in December (fandoms, fic, life in Victoria/BC/Canada/general, writing, books, music, recipes, TV, assorted recs) comment below anytime this month and I will oblige.

Something fannish: I would like thoughts about rare pairs and rare characters.

Something northerly: I've never been north of, erm... the Kawartha lakes, I think. (At least not on this continent.) Tell me about the northern bits. Is it true that Superman has an ice fortress there?

Something else: Talk Wodehouse to me.

Something made of all the awesome: A brief list of the absolute sparkliest, most wondrously awesome things you can think of in each of those categories you list, things that make the universe break out in fireworks and shooting stars and glitter, and makes fireflies dance across your field of view in a tiny kick-line.

Also, I'm interested in your writing process outside the actual writing - how you keep track of your ideas, or develop ideas if you don't have one, and how many days a week you write, and your research process, and how many words you tend to do when you sit down, and what it's like to make an outline and put things places and know what to put there and how detailed it is at the start and how that evolves (because you are, IIRC, a writer who pre-plans, and it's intensely difficult for me, but I want to learn it), and all of your theories about making stories. Or, you know, your top six theories about making stories. Whichever.
