Mistress of Wasting Time
Dear Self,
You have two to three stories you're supposed to be finishing before the end of the month. Why then have you started a fourth? (Answer: because the idea of a certain two A:TLA characters being all brooding and horny and hermit-y together is delicious).
Also, you've had a week off. Why did you get nothing useful done? (Answer: because you slept a lot and revelled in Not Being At Work.)
*eyes the calendar* Okay, I can still pull this off. But I have learned that my "the more I have to do, the more I get done" philosophy has its limits.

If those two characters are who I think they are, then I'm all for that one, of course. *g*

Oh spirits, yes. That's pretty much what I did in my three weeks off.

I hope the limits aren't too tight, because I am currently operating under this very policy. I spent Sunday writing myself into various corners to the tune of 2500 words, and I have to scrap them all. For a story due next week. Argh.
I hope you at least enjoyed yourself in the do-nothing week off. That in itself is doing something.

I wish I knew how to write *without* some sort of deadline looming. The days of sitting down and simply noodling my way through a story whenever I felt like it are gone, mostly because I actually need to finish what I start. It was a lot easier when I could just shelve something when I hit a roadblock! I am sure your philosophy will get you where you need to go, and I, for one, am looking forward to the results!
